Covid Update-Muay Thai Return To Play

Really positive news in that my sanctioning organization The British Martial Arts and Boxing Association (BMABA) have secured a interim Return to Play for unpresented martial arts. Based on WAKO Kickboxing's RtP, Muay Thai and other Martial Arts without a Sport England approved NGB can now recommence training at Phase 1 in line with the government Contact Combat Sport Framework.

The following Medium Risk and High Risk Activities can be performed during phase 1:

• Pad Work (PPE) – indoors

• Partnered Training Drills

• Pad Work (No PPE) – outdoors

My sessions continue to take place outdoors to reduce the risk of Covid and PPE will still be used if a client requests it or I am working with an at risk client. All other prescreening, cleaning and hygiene measures will remain in place as standard.

I would hope to expect a return to clinching and free sparring by the next easing of restrictions on May 17th. I'll keep you posted.
